REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
Unified Choir – Thursdays - 7:00 p.m. 

The Unified Choir of the Friendship Baptist Church in the Colony, Texas (a Dallas suburb) is an inspirational gospel music choir that is comprised of Christian singers and musicians who are under the leadership of Rev. Gregory Trotter, Pastor and Kevin O. Davis, Minister of Music. The mission of the Unified Choir is to sing the praises of God whenever and wherever the opportunity presents itself for the sole purpose of ministering to the hearts, minds and souls of those seeking to hear from the Lord.

The FBC Unified Choir just recently recorded an awesome “Live” CD that was released May 17, 2011.  They worked with some of the top names in the gospel recording business on this recording. They promoted the project via a New Jersey/New York tour in the summer of 2011.

In 2008, the choir came under the direction of Minister Kevin O. Davis, a graduate of Norfolk State University, a former captain in the U.S. Army, and an outstanding and accomplished musician.  Mr. Davis, formerly the Minister of Music at Clear View Baptist Church in New Jersey, recorded the album Take Up Your Cross with the Clear View Mass Choir featuring the Seacoast Revival Mass Choir.  The Unified Choir has been trained by Minister Davis in a diverse repertoire of music including traditional spirituals and hymns, praise songs, and contemporary gospel compositions. Under his capable direction, the choir has received much recognition and numerous accolades for their inspirational performances and excellence in singing. Most recently, they have been nominated for five Rhythm of Gospel Awards and will be performing at that awards show in Jacksonville, FL in July of 2012.

Throughout the year, the Unified Choir maintains an active performance schedule.  The Unified Choir regularly performs to an audience of approximately 2,000 parishioners during Sunday morning worship services at 8am and 11am.  A gospel music workshop is conducted each year by the Unified Choir which culminates in an exciting concert featuring a prominent musical guest who also serves as clinician during the workshop.  Past clinicians that have worked with the Unified Choir included song writer, Dr. Patrick Bradley, Minister of Music of the Gospel Music Workshop of America, gospel music recording artist, Gaye Arbuckle.  In 2009, the Unified Choir had the honor of working with gospel recording artist, Demetrius McClendon and gospel recording artist/Stellar Award Nominee Apostle Darrell Yancey. In 2010, the FBC Unified Choir was honoured to back up Grammy Award Winning artist, Hezekiah Walker.

The Unified Choir has traveled extensively throughout the country, completing concert tours of New Jersey, New York City, Baltiomre, Maryland and Washington, DC. In 2011, the FBCTC Unified Choir was excited to learn of its nomination in several categories by the Rhythm of Gospel Awards Show. The choir is scheduled to perform onstage at the live televised event on July 29, 2012 from the Times Union Center in Jacksonville, Florida. To God be the glory!
